Two Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Hawa Koomson's Son


Two persons have been taken into custody by the police in relation to the stabbing incident that took place at the Ofaakor Electoral Commission Office, which is close to Kasoa.


During an altercation, Ato Koomson, the son of Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the MP for Awutu Senya East, was stabbed.


Michael Addo, the constituency secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Awutu Senya East, disclosed that he got a call early in the morning regarding a dispute around seating arrangements at the registration office.


"Ato Koomson, my brother and close friend, arrived here even before I did. He contacted me and said that we should come quickly because the misunderstanding is becoming worse."

Ato Koomson, the constituency secretary, clarified that the New Democratic Congress's (NDC) goal was to sabotage the proceedings.


Mr. Addo said that Mr. Koomson was stabbed during the altercation despite efforts to keep the peace.


Nonetheless, the Ghana Police detained two persons in relation to the stabbing incident on Sunday, June 2.
